WPFD @ CM: The Videos

I was looking around YouTube and found this video of Nao performing on Day 1.

More videos from Lainie (she has a lot of videos from both days of the WPFD gig) or you can search YouTube.

Much thanks to Lainie. If anyone else has any more video links, please let me know.

WPFD Gig Update: 31st May 2006

Update: 31st May 2006

Good news! The police permit should be ready tomorrow. Also some minor changes have been made to the play list.

Due to some scheduling conflicts, Fathullistiwa Soundscapes will be playing the 12.50-1.20pm slot. Project Ei8ht will play the 4.55-5.25pm time slot to allow Carburetor Dung to remain headliners (as befitting a band of their stature).

On Sunday, due to recording committments, Broken Scar will play the 12.50-1.20pm time slot, swapping with Revenge. Everything else remains unchanged.

WPFD Gig Update: 30th May 2006

Update: 30th May 2006

I would think the flyer says it all. If you’re one of bands playing, read on. But if you’re not, go ahead anyway. For the moment, this is our game plan. Deviate at your own risk.

What follows is important stuff, basically how I run gigs in general.

World Press Freedom Day @ Central Market

Update!

First off, my apologies. Due to some red tape, the WPFD 2-day musical event at Central Market has been postponed to 3rd and 4th June. Same time, 12-6pm on both days. And yes, still free.

Due to the date change, some bands have had to pull out, among them Man Under Zero Effort and Aloe in the Bottle, who will be performing in Bangkok on those dates. Good luck!. Bands who have reconfirmed their participation include 2 Foot Candle, Ben’s Bitches, 360° Head Rotation, Negation and Broken Scar. The full list of bands and e-flyers will be up over the weekend. Stay tuned!

Pressed for Freedom

Pressed for Freedom
by Jac sm Kee

Last Wednesday was World Press Freedom Day ({wt} yes, we are a little slow). Celebrated every May 3 since its proclamation by the United Nations in 1993, “The Media As A Force For Change” is the theme for this year’s observation. Scanning mainstream newspapers, apart from Utusan Malaysia, not many others actually highlighted the day with much significance. I wonder why. Perhaps it is because there frankly isn’t much to celebrate.

Gig looking for bands: Update!

Update!

Yes! Solo musical acts accepted, not necessarily bands. No monkey sex performances though.

If you have a preference for a date to perform on, please inform me. Otherwise I’ll just slot you in where I think you’d fit best. And even if you do have a preference, no promises that you’d get it, but I’ll try my best.

Please call me! Don’t mail me! A little bit hard for me to get internet connectivity these days and I am a little pressed for time.

Update of an update!

My apologies. Due to a miscommunication, the wrong dates have been posted for the event at Central Market. I posted 28th and 29th (Sunday & Monday). The actual dates should be 27th and 28th of May (Saturday & Sunday).
